Trip to the Zoo

Saturday the 26th of July was Marlee's first trip to the NC Zoo. It turned out to be a great day weather wise. Looking back to McKena's first trip 5 years ago, it was quite fun seeing how similar Marlee's interests were to McKena's when she was 2. The tram - aka "choo choo train" - was the hit. Marlee was a fan as well of the giraffes - the last stop on the tour. As the day finished and me and Keith being suckers for the kids, Marlee decided instead of the $7 monkey stuffed animal, last minute that she needed the $23 elephant. So of course that meant McKena needed a stuffed animal upgrade as well. Marlee knew without us telling her that she had to pay for the elephant so she picked up the elephant, ran through the store and through it up on the counter before we could even catch her:-)

Indy the new dog

Ok, so it's been forever since I last posted, but I'll try to do better. A lot has happened, one of the more major events is that we adopted a dog. We named her "Indy", get it "Indiana JONES", yes, I still have my childhood crush on Harrison Ford. Indy has been quite a change to the routine. Cats will pretty much lay around, but Indy is quite active. But she loves the girls and we are glad we could rescue another animal from the shelter. It's quite overwhelming to visit the shelter and see how many dogs need homes, but Indy is an example of how REALLY sweet dogs can be found at your local animal shelter, so ADOPT.
