All Smiles

Marlee did her first legitimate smile on September 21. This picture was taken on the 23rd, so it's her first picture smiling. We were getting ready to go to a friend's baby shower and had her head and arms propped on a pillow while we finished getting ready and as we talked to her she would smile so I got the camera as quickly as I could:-) 

The Bike Accident

McKena had a bit of a bike accident and here's a reluctant picture with the black eye - which actually looks good compared to how it did look the first few days. 

McKena bought a tiny watermelon plant in early spring and we made the mistake of planting it right outside of the front door. The vines grew and covered the front walkway. Amazingly we did manage to grow a watermelon and here was the result! 

Hanging Out

Here's McKena and Marlee one day before Marlee was in the hospital for 3 days. Marlee didn't eat well on the 27th and slept most of the day away and I didn't think she seemed right. I took her to the Dr. on Monday morning and she had a slight fever, but unfortunately when they are so young (she was 10 days) they check them into the hospital to make sure it's not something serious and they can constantly monitor their temperature. Luckily nothing was wrong, just had a virus like anyone might get. It made for an interesting week, but we were just happy she was fine. 

First Day of Kindergarten

McKena started Kindergarten on 8.25.06. She was so excited to ride the bus. She had her new outfit and new backpack and was ready to take on the world. Luckily I had Marlee to keep me occupied or I would have shed a lot more tears than I did. But the first day went off without a hitch.

A Few More Hours

McKena gave me a picture to take with me to the hospital. "Dear mom, I hope you have a good time with the baby. I will come see the baby." 

One Week to Go!

Here I am with one week to go. We didn't know for sure that Marlee would get to come 10 days early, but we were happy she did!
